As you can see one side of the leaf is white and the other side is black, this is because of the unique processing.

The processing starts with the leaves & buds, usually, 2 leaves on one bud when there is still a lot of white fuzz on the bud, being picked in the spring and then dried over a long period of time under the moonlight.
